Ridgefield Republican Town Committee Taps Third Generation Ridgefielder, Business Owner for Board of Finance Appointment
Ridgefield, CT – February 9, 2010
The Ridgefield Republican Town Committee voted on Tuesday to recommend that the Board of Finance (BOF) appoint Margaret Price-Sims to fill the vacancy created by Bob Cascella’s resignation. Margaret, a third generation Ridgefielder, is Vice President of Ridgefield Supply Company, a leading local home building materials supplier.
RTC Chairman Jim Carroll commented that after an interview committee had met with six highly qualified candidates, the consensus was that Margaret’s long-term community involvement and experience actively managing a business made her an ideal candidate to fill the open seat. “The RTC looks for dedicated individuals who have lived in Ridgefield long enough to know its strengths and weaknesses, who have demonstrated long-term active community involvement and who have the relevant business experience to provide the perspective needed on the BOF.”
Besides serving as a Trustee of the First Congregational Church and Community Ombudsman for the Ridgefield Republican Town Committee, Margaret formed the committee and led the re-building effort for EJ Carfi’s house in Ridgefield.
If Margaret is appointed, she would join recently elected former GE executive Jill Bornstein and Republican veterans Marty Heiser and Pete Gomez. For the first time in the Ridgefield’s history, there would be two women serving on the Board of Finance.
